PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have integrated advanced anti-drone systems and surveillance drones into the Safe City Peshawar’s Command and Control Centre, significantly enhancing their security and surveillance capabilities across the province.

This integration allows for real-time monitoring of live video feeds from police drones deployed during operations against terrorists, as stated by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ijaz Ahmad during a news conference at the Command and Control Centre. The new system enables prompt detection and neutralization of hostile quadcopters and drones, bolstering the province’s counterterrorism efforts.

The implementation of these technologies is expected to improve public safety and security, particularly in areas prone to terrorist activities. By linking the anti-drone systems in Peshawar and other cities to the central command, the police can respond more effectively to aerial threats, thereby safeguarding citizens and enhancing operational efficiency.

Looking ahead, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police plan to expand the use of these technologies in various operations, aiming to further strengthen their counterterrorism strategies. Continuous training and upgrades to the system are anticipated to ensure that law enforcement remains ahead of emerging threats.
