KP Permits Political Activity Within Legal Limits, Samar Bilour Affirms

PESHAWAR: Newly appointed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Samar Bilour has announced that political activities across the province will be permitted strictly within the ambit of the Constitution and prevailing legal frameworks, following the recent administrative transition in the region.

Speaking to media representatives in the provincial capital, Bilour clarified the caretaker administration’s position following the imposition of Governor’s rule and emergency measures. She underscored that while peaceful political assembly and constitutional rights remain intact, provincial authorities will strictly enforce the rule of law to ensure public order is not compromised under the pretext of unrestrained partisan agitation.

The announcement comes amid intense political friction across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where opposition factions and political stakeholders have voiced serious concerns over potential curtailments of civil liberties and democratic engagement. By delineating clear boundaries for public gatherings, the provincial leadership aims to balance fundamental political freedoms with the imperatives of regional stability and civilian safety.

The provincial information adviser noted that law enforcement agencies and district administrations have been directed to monitor compliance and facilitate lawful political engagement in an orderly manner. Senior officials are scheduled to convene further administrative reviews to evaluate provincial security coordination alongside federal authorities over the coming days.
