Lahore Airport Enforces Complete Ban on Kite Flying for Safety Reasons

LAHORE: The Punjab government has imposed a complete ban on kite flying in the vicinity of Lahore Airport, effective immediately, to ensure the safety of air traffic and prevent potential accidents.

The decision was announced by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) following several incidents where kites posed a risk to aircraft during takeoff and landing. A spokesperson for the CAA stated, “The safety of passengers and crew is our top priority, and this ban is necessary to mitigate any risks associated with kite flying near the airport.” The ban will be enforced rigorously, with penalties for violators.

This measure is expected to significantly enhance aviation safety in the region, particularly during the kite flying season, which traditionally sees a surge in activity. Local authorities are urging citizens to comply with the regulations to avoid accidents that could endanger lives and disrupt air travel.

In the coming weeks, the Punjab government plans to launch an awareness campaign to educate the public about the dangers of kite flying near airports. Additionally, law enforcement agencies will increase patrols around the airport area to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
