NADRA Eases Process for Overseas Pakistanis to Use Foreign Mobile Numbers
ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified that overseas Pakistanis can now use their foreign mobile numbers when applying for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). This announcement addresses a significant concern raised by expatriates regarding the application process.
During a recent NADRA podcast, a Canadian citizen inquired whether he could utilize his foreign mobile number for the NICOP application. NADRA officials confirmed that this option is now available, streamlining the process for Pakistanis living abroad who previously faced challenges in using local numbers.
This development is expected to greatly benefit the Pakistani diaspora, facilitating easier access to essential services and documentation. By allowing the use of foreign mobile numbers, NADRA aims to enhance the efficiency of its services for overseas citizens, thereby strengthening their connection to Pakistan.
Looking ahead, NADRA plans to implement further improvements in its services for overseas Pakistanis, including enhanced online application systems and support services. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to ensure that expatriates can maintain their ties with their homeland more effectively.
