New Zealand Plan Strategy Against India Sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

CHRISTCHURCH: New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy has revealed that the Black Caps have conducted meticulous video analysis to devise a strategy against India’s 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of their upcoming five-match Twenty20 International series, which kicks off at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters during a pre-series media interaction, Duffy lauded the teenage prodigy for his remarkable consistency and boundary-clearing ability, admitting that the youngster’s aggressive style has captured world cricket’s attention. Sooryavanshi became India’s youngest men’s international cricketer during the tour of England in July, before etching his name in record books as the youngest player to score a half-century in men’s international cricket by smashing an 18-ball fifty against Zimbabwe.

The teenage left-hander, who recently added an Asian Games gold medal to his growing list of achievements during India’s dominant run in Aichi-Nagoya, has consistently operated at an astounding strike-rate near 250 across competitive formats. However, the New Zealand team management remains confident that their home green-top pitches and windy conditions will present a severe technical test for the young batter.

The five-match series offers a crucial platform for both teams, with India looking to groom their next generation of white-ball stars in challenging overseas environments, while host nation New Zealand seeks to exploit home advantage and establish early dominance starting Thursday.
