Pakistan and Saudi Fund Explore Oil Refinery Upgrades and Trade Growth

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) are in discussions to enhance bilateral trade and investment, focusing on upgrading the country’s oil refineries. This meeting took place between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb and SFD CEO Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad.

The dialogue aims to strengthen private-sector cooperation and explore new opportunities for economic collaboration. Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of these upgrades for Pakistan’s energy sector, stating that improved refinery capabilities could significantly boost local production and reduce dependency on imports.

This initiative is expected to have far-reaching implications for Pakistan’s economy, potentially leading to job creation and increased energy security. The collaboration with the SFD could also enhance Pakistan’s standing in the global energy market, attracting further foreign investment.

Looking ahead, both parties plan to hold further meetings to finalize the details of the proposed upgrades and explore additional avenues for trade expansion. The outcomes of these discussions could pave the way for a more robust economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
