Pakistan Braces for Heavy Rains and Windstorms from Oct 6-7
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy rains, strong winds, and thunderstorms, with isolated hailstorms, across the upper regions of the country from October 6 to 7. This weather system is attributed to a westerly wave expected to enter the area tonight and persist through Wednesday.
In its press release, the PMD detailed that the impending weather conditions will affect various locations including Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab, as well as the Islamabad region. The department has urged residents to remain vigilant as the rain-windstorm and thunderstorms are anticipated to begin in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Monday night, particularly in areas such as Dir, Chitral, and Swat.
This weather pattern is expected to bring significant changes, potentially impacting daily life, agriculture, and transportation in the affected regions. Citizens are advised to prepare for possible disruptions and to stay updated with the latest forecasts from the PMD.
As the situation develops, the PMD will continue to monitor the weather patterns and provide updates. Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.
