Pakistan Considers Importing Crude Oil from Libya Amid Supply Disruptions

RIYADH: Pakistan is exploring the possibility of importing crude oil from Libya following disruptions in supply chains across the Middle East. Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Parvez Malik met with Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas to discuss bilateral cooperation and the import of crude oil.

The discussions took place during a series of significant meetings held in Saudi Arabia with energy ministers from Libya, Qatar, and Turkey. Minister Malik emphasized the importance of diversifying Pakistan’s energy sources to ensure stability in the face of ongoing regional supply challenges.

This potential collaboration with Libya could have far-reaching implications for Pakistan’s energy security and economic stability. As the country grapples with rising energy demands and fluctuating global oil prices, securing a reliable supply from Libya may help mitigate some of these pressures.

Looking ahead, further negotiations are expected to solidify the terms of the proposed oil imports. The Pakistani government aims to finalize agreements that will enhance energy cooperation with Libya and potentially other regional partners.
