Pakistan Launches Employment Permit System for Workers in South Korea

Employment Permit System

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has introduced the Employment Permit System (EPS) to facilitate legal job opportunities for Pakistani workers seeking employment in South Korea. This initiative allows selected Pakistani citizens to work in various sectors across the country.

The EPS program is managed by the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), which oversees the application process and ensures compliance with South Korean labor laws. Officials have stated that this system aims to streamline the recruitment process and provide a transparent framework for both employers and employees.

This development is significant for Pakistan, as it opens new avenues for labor migration, potentially boosting the economy through remittances. With a growing demand for skilled labor in South Korea, this initiative could alleviate unemployment issues in Pakistan and enhance bilateral relations between the two nations.

Moving forward, the OEC is expected to conduct informational sessions to guide prospective applicants on the EPS process. The government aims to ensure that all interested candidates are well-informed about the requirements and benefits of working abroad.
