Pakistan Stock Exchange Sees Record Surge with 25,281 New Investors in September

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reported an unprecedented addition of 25,281 new investors in September 2026, marking the highest monthly increase in its investor base. This surge brings the total number of investors to 656,218 by the end of the month, reflecting a growing interest in the country’s financial markets.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced this significant milestone during a gong ceremony at the PSX, which celebrated the listing of new companies. He emphasized the importance of this growth for the economy, stating that a robust investor base is crucial for the development of capital markets and overall economic stability.

This remarkable increase in investors is indicative of a renewed confidence in the Pakistani economy, which has faced various challenges in recent years. Analysts suggest that the influx of new investors could lead to increased market activity, potentially boosting economic growth and attracting further foreign investment.

Looking ahead, the PSX aims to sustain this momentum by implementing initiatives to enhance investor education and engagement. Upcoming workshops and seminars are planned to equip potential investors with the necessary knowledge to navigate the stock market effectively.
