PCB Announces Dates for HBL PSL 12: March 18 to May 2, 2024
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the 12th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place from March 18 to May 2, 2024. This announcement was made on Thursday following a meeting of the PSL governing council held in London on September 1, where franchise owners and representatives discussed the upcoming season.
The PCB stated that further details regarding the schedule, venues, and ticketing arrangements will be released in due course. The next phase of squad-building will include direct signings, player retentions, a trade window, and the player auction, which is expected to generate significant interest among fans and stakeholders alike.
This edition of the PSL follows an expanded 2026 season that introduced two new franchises, the Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz, marking a pivotal shift in the league’s structure. The 2026 season also transitioned from a draft system to a player auction format, which saw 103 players sold to the eight franchises, enhancing the competitive landscape of the tournament.
As the league gears up for its 12th season, the PCB has indicated that players retained or acquired during the auction will be on two-year contracts, covering both the 11th and 12th editions. Franchises will have the option to retain up to seven players for the upcoming season, setting the stage for a highly competitive tournament.
