PM Directs Third-Party Audit of NHA Projects to Ensure Transparency

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister has instructed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to conduct a third-party audit of its ongoing projects to enhance transparency and accountability in government spending.

The directive was issued during a recent cabinet meeting, where the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of independent evaluations to ensure that public funds are utilized effectively. He stated, “We must ensure that every rupee spent on infrastructure projects is accounted for and delivers value to the citizens of Pakistan.” This move comes amid growing concerns over financial mismanagement in various government departments.

This initiative is expected to bolster public trust in government operations, particularly in the context of ongoing economic challenges. By implementing a rigorous auditing process, the government aims to demonstrate its commitment to fiscal responsibility and integrity, which could have positive implications for foreign investment and economic stability.

The NHA is expected to begin the audit process shortly, with results anticipated within the next few months. The Prime Minister has also called for regular updates on the progress of the audit to ensure accountability and transparency throughout the process.
