PM Shehbaz Sharif Promises Progress for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under Governor’s Rule
PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday pledged that the federal government, currently administering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under governor’s rule, will exert every effort to restore progress in the province. This commitment was made during a meeting of the apex committee, marking his first visit since the imposition of governor’s rule and emergency on October 11.
During the meeting, which included Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, the overall security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was reviewed. PM Shehbaz emphasized that the decision to impose emergency measures was taken under extreme compulsion, highlighting the critical state of affairs in the province.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid ongoing concerns regarding governance and security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province that has faced significant challenges during previous tenures of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. His assurances aim to reassure citizens that the federal government is committed to restoring stability and development.
Looking ahead, the federal government plans to implement a series of initiatives aimed at revitalizing the province’s economy and improving public welfare. Further meetings are expected to outline specific strategies and timelines for these efforts, as the government seeks to regain the trust of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
