President Zardari Says China’s Growth Brings Global Economic Benefits
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized that China’s rapid economic and social development continues to yield immense benefits not only for the region but for the entire global community. Speaking during a high-level briefing at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President lauded Beijing’s visionary leadership and its transformative impact on global trade, infrastructure development, and poverty alleviation.
Highlighting the deep-rooted, all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China, President Zardari stated that Beijing’s progress serves as an exemplary model for developing nations. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which has played a pivotal role in upgrading Pakistan’s infrastructure and energy sectors. “China’s socio-economic achievements are a testament to its resilient policies and dedication to shared global prosperity,” the President remarked.
Diplomatic analysts believe that President Zardari’s remarks underscore Islamabad’s strategic reliance on Beijing amid ongoing domestic economic challenges. The strengthening of bilateral ties is expected to boost joint ventures in agriculture, technology, and industrial cooperation, offering Pakistan a viable pathway toward sustainable economic recovery. Furthermore, the alignment of both nations on regional stability remains crucial for South Asia’s geopolitical landscape.
Looking ahead, Pakistan and China are scheduled to hold a series of bilateral consultations next month to review the progress of CPEC Phase-II. These upcoming high-level discussions will focus on enhancing business-to-business cooperation, establishing special economic zones (SEZs), and accelerating green energy initiatives to ensure long-term regional integration and mutual prosperity.
