Prime Minister Launches IT Park Islamabad to Boost Tech Industry Growth

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the IT Park Islamabad today, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at propelling the growth of Pakistan’s technology sector and enhancing its export capabilities. This initiative, spearheaded by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) under the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication (MoITT), is designed to foster innovation and support local tech companies in reaching global markets.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of technology in driving economic growth and creating job opportunities. He stated, “The IT Park will serve as a catalyst for our tech industry, enabling startups and established companies alike to thrive in an increasingly competitive global landscape.” The facility is expected to provide essential resources, including office space, training, and networking opportunities for emerging tech entrepreneurs.

The establishment of IT Park Islamabad is seen as a significant step towards positioning Pakistan as a key player in the global technology arena. With the country’s youth increasingly inclined towards tech careers, this initiative is anticipated to harness their potential, thereby contributing to national economic development and reducing unemployment rates.

Looking ahead, the government plans to roll out additional support programs for tech startups, including funding opportunities and mentorship initiatives. Stakeholders are optimistic that these efforts will not only enhance the local tech ecosystem but also attract foreign investment, further solidifying Pakistan’s status as a burgeoning tech hub.
