PSB Recognizes Rizwan Aftab for Contributions to Athlete Welfare and Sports Growth
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has honored Rizwan Aftab Ahmed, director of National Hospital in DHA Lahore, for his significant contributions to athlete welfare and sports development. The recognition took place earlier this week during a meeting where PSB Director General Yawar Hussain praised Rizwan’s extensive support for sporting activities.
During the ceremony, Rizwan was awarded a commemorative shield and a blazer of excellence by Yawar and representatives from the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation. Yawar highlighted Rizwan’s sponsorship of the Independence Day celebrations at the PSB Coaching Centre in Lahore, emphasizing the critical role of private sector involvement in promoting sports and athlete development.
Rizwan, a registered dietician, has been instrumental in providing medical and nutritional assistance to athletes across various disciplines, supporting both national and international competitors. His efforts extend beyond mere sponsorships, as he actively engages in partnerships with sporting organizations to enhance the overall athlete experience.
Looking ahead, the PSB plans to continue fostering collaborations with private entities to bolster the sports sector in Pakistan. Discussions are expected to focus on expanding support for athletes and organizing more events that can elevate the country’s sporting profile.
