PTI Core Committee Fails to Reach Consensus on Future Strategy
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) core committee concluded a two-day meeting without adopting any recommendations regarding its future course of action. Despite extensive discussions lasting eight hours, the committee could not reach a consensus, primarily due to the leadership’s refusal to conduct a vote on proposed measures.
Participants expressed concerns over the recent failure of a protest march led by non-functional Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi. They also debated the role of Tehreek-i-Tahafuz-Ayin-i-Pakistan (TTAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai and the party’s decision-making processes. One participant noted a significant decline in party worker turnout from Charsadda to Mardan, with no arrangements in place for Swabi.
This lack of direction within the PTI raises questions about the party’s future and its ability to mobilize support amid ongoing political challenges. The internal discord may hinder the party’s effectiveness in addressing pressing national issues, potentially impacting its standing in the upcoming political landscape.
Looking ahead, the PTI may need to convene further meetings to address these internal divisions and outline a clear strategy moving forward. The party’s leadership faces mounting pressure to unify its ranks and respond effectively to the evolving political climate.
