Punjab Government Announces Zero Markup Loans for Farmers Up to 10 Million
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a significant financial initiative aimed at supporting farmers across the province, introducing zero markup loans of up to 10 million PKR. This announcement came during a meeting with representatives from small, medium, and large farming sectors on October 28, 2026.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Nawaz assured the farmers that their suggestions and recommendations would be gradually implemented. She emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring financial stability for farmers, who are vital to the province’s economy.
This initiative is expected to alleviate the financial burdens faced by farmers, particularly in the wake of rising operational costs and economic challenges. By providing access to interest-free loans, the Punjab government aims to boost agricultural output and improve the livelihoods of those in the farming community.
Looking ahead, the provincial government plans to hold further consultations with agricultural stakeholders to refine the loan program and explore additional support measures. This initiative marks a proactive step towards revitalizing the agricultural sector in Punjab.
