Punjab Launches 33 Mobile Police Stations to Enhance Public Safety Services

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated 33 mobile police stations on Wednesday, designed to provide 14 essential services, including the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs), across the province, according to an official statement.

During a briefing on the initiative, Punjab Home Secretary Ahmad Javed Qazi highlighted that six of these mobile units are specifically dedicated to addressing issues faced by women. Each mobile station will be staffed by a sub-inspector, a field supervisor, a senior station assistant, and both male and female constables to ensure comprehensive support and accessibility.

This initiative aims to enhance public safety and improve the efficiency of police services in Punjab, particularly for marginalized groups. By bringing police services directly to communities, the government seeks to foster trust and cooperation between citizens and law enforcement, ultimately contributing to a safer environment.

Moving forward, the Punjab government plans to monitor the effectiveness of these mobile stations and may expand the program based on community feedback and operational success. The presence of relevant station house officers and beat officers in the field will ensure that operations align with established protocols and community needs.
