SBP Reports Financial Inclusion Index Climbs to 59.5 in 2025
ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced a significant rise in the Pakistan Financial Inclusion Index (P-FII), which reached 59.5 in 2025, up from 58.1 in the previous year. This increase reflects a notable improvement in financial inclusion across the nation, driven primarily by enhanced usage of financial services.
The SBP’s report highlights that the growth in the Usage sub-index was the main contributor to this upward trend, indicating that more citizens are engaging with banking and financial products. The central bank emphasized that this progress is crucial for fostering economic stability and growth in Pakistan.
This rise in the Financial Inclusion Index is expected to have far-reaching implications for the Pakistani economy, as increased access to financial services can empower individuals and small businesses, ultimately leading to greater economic participation and development. Analysts suggest that improved financial inclusion can also enhance the resilience of the economy against external shocks.
Looking ahead, the SBP plans to implement further initiatives aimed at boosting financial literacy and access, particularly in underserved areas. Upcoming workshops and campaigns are expected to be launched to educate the public on the benefits of financial services and how to utilize them effectively.
