Schools Association Urges Government to Cut Class 9 and 10 Syllabus Immediately
ISLAMABAD: The Serving Schools Association has called on the government to immediately reduce the syllabus for Class 9 and 10, citing a significant shortage of teaching days in the current academic year. Association President Raza-ur-Rehman emphasized that students have only attended classes for 45 days, despite the fact that half of the academic year has already elapsed.
In a statement, Rehman expressed concern over the impact of the limited classroom time on students’ learning outcomes. He noted that with approximately four months remaining in the academic year, a reduction in the syllabus is essential to ensure that students can adequately prepare for their examinations.
This demand comes at a time when the education sector is grappling with various challenges, including the effects of the ongoing pandemic and the need for a more flexible curriculum that accommodates the realities of modern education. The association’s request highlights the urgent need for policy adjustments to support students’ academic success.
Looking ahead, the Serving Schools Association plans to meet with education officials to discuss the proposed syllabus changes and advocate for a more manageable curriculum. The outcome of these discussions could significantly influence educational policies and practices in Pakistan.
