Suspect Repatriated from Azerbaijan After 15 Years in Gujrat Murder Case

GUJRAT: Authorities have successfully repatriated Sher Afghan, a suspect wanted in connection with a murder case dating back 15 years, from Azerbaijan through Interpol. Afghan is accused of shooting a man in Laal Warri village in 2011 before fleeing the country.

According to a Gujrat police official, District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shahzad directed Saddar Gujrat Station House Officer Sub Inspector Raja Shehroz to initiate the repatriation process, which has now concluded with Afghan in police custody.

This development underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to resolve long-standing cases and bring fugitives to justice. The repatriation not only serves as a reminder of the complexities involved in international law enforcement cooperation but also highlights the commitment of local authorities to address crime effectively.

In a related matter, Gujrat police have also apprehended suspects linked to the recent murder of a fruit kiosk owner, which was reportedly tied to an honor-related dispute. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover further details surrounding the case.
