TTAP Invites Jamaat-i-Islami to Join Multiparty Conference Amid Political Crisis
ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the Tehreek-i-Tahafuz Aain Pakistan (TTAP), led by Senate opposition leader Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has formally invited Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to participate in a multiparty conference (MPC) proposed by the opposition alliance. The invitation was extended during a meeting on Friday, where the delegation discussed pressing national issues.
The opposition alliance first announced its intention to convene the MPC on September 11, with PTI taking the lead in organizing the event. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasized the need for this conference, citing the deteriorating law and order situation, economic challenges, rampant inflation, and the contentious issue of creating new provinces as critical topics for discussion.
This initiative reflects a growing urgency among opposition parties to address the country’s political instability and economic hardships. By uniting various political factions, the MPC aims to foster dialogue and collaboration to navigate the current crises, which have significant implications for governance and public welfare.
Looking ahead, the TTAP is expected to finalize the details of the MPC, including the date and agenda, in the coming weeks. The participation of JI and other political entities will be crucial in shaping a unified response to the challenges facing Pakistan.
