Ishaq Dar Heads to Istanbul for Key R-4 and E-3 Diplomatic Meetings
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has departed for Istanbul to participate in crucial meetings involving the foreign ministers of the R-4 bloc and the E-3 group on October 23, as confirmed by the Foreign Office.
The R-4 group, which includes Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye, was established in March to enhance regional security and facilitate mediation efforts between the United States and Iran. The upcoming discussions are expected to focus on these pressing issues, reflecting the bloc’s commitment to fostering stability in the region.
The E-3 group, comprising France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, has been instrumental in diplomatic efforts regarding Iran’s nuclear program for over two decades. The collaboration between the R-4 and E-3 groups signifies a strategic alignment aimed at addressing mutual concerns, particularly in light of ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
As the meetings unfold, they are anticipated to yield significant insights into the evolving geopolitical landscape, with potential implications for Pakistan’s foreign policy and its role in regional diplomacy. Following the Istanbul meetings, further discussions may be scheduled to assess the outcomes and next steps in the diplomatic engagements.
