PTI Welcomes Potential Support from JUI-F in Political Struggle
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has expressed openness to receiving support from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in their ongoing opposition against the government. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja made this announcement on Tuesday, indicating that the party is willing to collaborate with anyone who aligns with their cause.
Raja emphasized that while they do not view the Maulana as a ‘saviour’ or ‘messiah’, they are not dismissing potential allies. He stated, “It is possible that some may walk with us for one mile, some for 10 miles and some till the end, but why should we reject them?” This sentiment reflects PTI’s strategy to broaden its coalition as it navigates the current political landscape.
The implications of this potential alliance could be significant, as it may bolster PTI’s position in the opposition against the ruling government. The collaboration could also reshape the dynamics within Pakistan’s political sphere, especially as both parties have historically held differing views on various issues.
Looking ahead, PTI is expected to continue seeking alliances and support from other political factions. Meanwhile, the party faces challenges as it claims that family members of its incarcerated leader, Imran Khan, have been denied access to him once again, raising concerns about the treatment of political prisoners in the country.
