Rawalpindi Police Launch E-Ticketing System Ahead of ICC Test Series
RAWALPINDI: In a bid to enhance security and streamline passenger tracking, the Rawalpindi Police have announced the introduction of an e-ticketing system at local bus stands. This initiative, utilizing the Travel Eye app, aims to maintain a digital record of passengers ahead of the ICC Test Championship series scheduled from November 9 to 13.
The police will also implement the Hotel Eye app to monitor guests at hotels, guesthouses, and inns. This dual approach is designed to facilitate the tracking of visitors and to identify any wanted criminals entering the city via public transport or staying in local accommodations, according to a police official.
These security measures were discussed in a meeting led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Malik Tariq Mahboob, which included representatives from the Regional Transport Authority, Counter-Terrorism Department, Special Branch, and City Traffic Police. The SSP emphasized the importance of these apps in bolstering law enforcement capabilities during a high-profile sporting event.
As the first Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka approaches, the police are ramping up surveillance efforts to ensure public safety. The implementation of these digital tools is expected to improve the overall security framework in Rawalpindi, providing peace of mind to both residents and visitors alike.
