Punjab Revenue Authority Accelerates E-Invoicing System for 14 Sectors
LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) is set to expedite the implementation of its Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS) across 14 designated business sectors. This initiative aims to streamline the registration process for new businesses and enhance tax compliance by ensuring accurate invoicing practices.
PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra announced this decision during a performance review meeting, emphasizing the need for strict measures against firms that issue fraudulent receipts or manipulate financial records. The PRA’s proactive approach is designed to foster a transparent business environment and improve revenue collection.
The introduction of the E-IMS is expected to significantly impact the local economy by reducing tax evasion and increasing government revenue. This move aligns with global trends towards digitalization in tax administration, making it easier for businesses to comply with regulations while minimizing the risk of fraud.
As the PRA rolls out this system, further meetings will be scheduled to monitor progress and address any challenges faced by businesses during the transition. Stakeholders are encouraged to engage with the PRA to ensure a smooth implementation process.
