Over 90,000 Pakistani Professionals Seek Employment Abroad in Recent Years

ISLAMABAD: More than 90,000 Pakistani professionals, including managers, engineers, doctors, accountants, nurses, teachers, and IT workers, have relocated abroad for employment opportunities from 2024 to 2026, according to official overseas employment data shared with TechJuice.

The statistics reveal that 45,830 professionals left for overseas jobs in 2024, followed by 28,726 in 2025, and 15,850 in 2026. This trend highlights a significant outflow of skilled labor, raising concerns about the impact on the local economy and workforce.

This mass migration of professionals could have broader implications for Pakistan’s economy, as it may lead to a shortage of skilled workers in critical sectors. The government and industry leaders are now faced with the challenge of addressing this brain drain while also considering strategies to retain talent within the country.

In response to these developments, upcoming discussions among policymakers and industry stakeholders are expected to focus on creating more job opportunities domestically and enhancing the working conditions for professionals to discourage further emigration.
