PML-N, PPP, PTI Each Awarded Two Seats on Poll Reforms Committee
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will each receive two seats on the newly formed Poll Reforms Committee. This decision aims to enhance collaboration among major political parties in addressing electoral reforms ahead of the upcoming elections.
During a press briefing, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan, emphasized the importance of a unified approach to electoral integrity. He stated, “The inclusion of all major political parties in this committee is crucial for ensuring that the electoral process is transparent and credible. We must work together to restore public confidence in our democratic institutions.”
The establishment of this committee comes at a critical time as Pakistan prepares for general elections, with ongoing concerns about electoral fairness and transparency. By involving key political players, the government hopes to foster a more inclusive dialogue that could lead to significant reforms in the electoral process, ultimately benefiting the electorate.
Looking ahead, the committee is expected to convene its first meeting next week, where members will discuss the agenda and outline specific reform proposals. Stakeholders are keenly observing these developments, as the outcomes could shape the political landscape in Pakistan for years to come.
